It's Great...I'm 8!

March 27, 2008

8 Months that is! Can you believe it? In this one month alone, Kenadie has gone from rolling all over the house to crawling, pseudo walking, teething and pointing... I suppose one could say it's been a big month.
As you can tell by this picture, teething hasn't been very fun...

Ok, no... I can't pass this picture off as anything else but my little girl who has now learned to smell things. Apparently, something smells bad, right? That's what I thought until I noticed this face came along with each and every sniff. It came about when one day I was sniffing her feet and while saying PPEEEEE-UUUUU!! She'd giggle and we'd both have a good time. Out of no where, she figured out how I was making the noise and started making really exaggerated sniff, sniff, sniff sounds. When I turned around to see what was happening, I saw that face... She saw me almost fall to the ground in laughter with the sight of my little Popeye look-a-like smelling the world. This is now a hobby... she does it ALL DAY!

One real part of teething is chewing on everything! There isn't a single thing that doesn't go in her mouth. At this one particular moment she decided that the present she was unwrapping looked more tasty than anything and took a big bite out of the tissue paper. BAD DECISION! You live and learn Miss K! Notice the chewed up paper in her hand ;)

Remember in her 7 month blog how I told everyone about her reluctance to eating baby food because she thought she was a big girl now? Well this month she is taking a stand...No, no, literally taking a stand and wanting to walk. I thought now that she is crawling that she'd want to do that for a bit. NOOOOPE! Not my child. She stares you down until you grasp her hands and walk with her to her next destination of disaster. While at Babies R Us I saw this contraption which showed a mom holding the baby up by straps as the baby walked around the house. To this day I remember reading the box and laughing "What lazy a$$ needs this?" Well, that would be me! My back hurts from arching down and walking her everywhere. And if my back hurts, GiGi's back must really be aching... this contraption is in need!

With all the visitors from Chicago to San Fran, again, another month flew by with more lovin' across the USA! Uncle Dan, Christa, Chrystie, Britty and Kelly rounded out the last 8 months to be nothing short of spectacular. I'm pretty sure that Kenadie worked them over with her big blue eyes and long luscious eye lashes. A few bats of those things and you are sucked into the Kenadie Zone. Uncle Dan was so sucked in that at one minute he had made up and sang a special song that went a little something like this "Mikuni SU-shi, Mikuni SU-shi..." It was lovely! Only a few weeks later with Kelly and Britt in town she started her magic charm again. You'll notice the picture below, that Auntie Beebs was tuckered out from chasing Kenadie around the house ...

and Kenadie's eyes were locked on Kelly...or was it her beer? We are still in question...

It's official, Spring is here! It's 70 degrees out with not one single cloud in the sky... it's beautiful. What better place to be than enjoying the warm California sun than in the backyard with my little girl playing catch? Kenadie perfected her ball skills with only the coolest Disney Princess Ball. In between tossing the ball she snuck in a handful of grass, dirt...you know, whatever she could get her chubby little hands on. Who can resist taking advantage of every chance we get to go outside for giggles and sunshine! Isn't it great to be a baby... ?

This has been such a great month that I can't wait for 9! Each and every month I don't think she can top the cutest thing she's done the month before...and she does!!
