Eggs, Bunnies and Sugar...OH MY!
Once again, another holiday has come and gone and Kenadie is just getting to be more and more fun. This weekend, as many of you may know, the Easter Bunny hopped in, dropped off eggs, nibbled on carrots and hopped on is way. When we all woke up, we found our baskets full of candy, even Kenadie got to gum up a few peeps.
For her first Easter, her SF Aunties, Beebs and Kelly came into town for all sorts of hugs and chocolate kisses :) Miss Kenadie learned all about her March Madness Brackets which she threw a few bets on herself. She pulled out her Fisher Price purse and laid down a crinkly purple $5 sunshine bill. I believe she was betting for Michigan State... but who knows, we did notice that the St. Mary Gales had made a thrusting appearance. Unfortunately though... they were out in the first round. Sorry Gales!
Let's not forget to talk about the Easter Baskets... oh the sweets, toys and clothes! This had to be the best Easter I've ever seen for one little girl. Kenadie got several baskets from several super Easter Bunny Helpers. First, her Kelly and Britty brought over a basket full books, pretty pink dresses and yummy candy that Aron and I had to eat... she'll understand when she's older.
But can I be honest, those Nerd Jelly Beans were to DIE FOR! Then came breakfast at Jason and Kathy's where another basket of colorful eggs and bunny ears became the talk of the Bunny Town. I must say, she looked pretty darn cute in those blue bunny ears! And then... the O.G. Easter Bunny came to town with a basket full of bath toys, her first pair of crocs, baby yummies, sun hat, teethers and more. Last but certainly not least, we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house where there was another HUGE basket filled with more exciting toys, shoes, outfits, lolli pops, teethers, stuffed animals... I can't even remember it all! What I do remember is that Kenadie had a blast!!
It's not over... Easter that is. It was now time to put the toys away, stretch our muscles and prepare for the EASTER EGG HUNT MADNESS '08! Us girls changed out of our best fancy shoes and into our best running shoes, the boys rolled up their sleeves, because it was GO TIME! The sliding doors opened and CHARRRRGE! We were off... Kenadie and I had a bit of a head start since we had a walking disadvantage. I kind of felt like it was a scene out of that show, American Gladiators. "OK everyone, Kenadie and Sharus get a 10 second head start...and then the next EGGLADIATORS can follow!" As I glanced behind me to see everyone else pushing each other over for lottery eggs, Miss K and I were taking our sweet time not only finding eggs, but picking up grass and eating it... twisting off Uncle Teddy's flowers, you know... the fun stuff. Each egg that we found went straight into...THE MOUTH! Nope, not the Easter Basket... Again, I peer over to see the ADULTS going crazy on all the eggs. I had to pull a MOM Card and yell out "LEAVE THE ONES ON THE GROUND FOR THE BABY!" I believe I then became the Easter Buzz Kill for the Adult Children. In the end... Kenadie and I won a ton of candy eggs and a scratch off ticket that ended up in another ... scratch off ticket. It's ok K, you aren't old enough to gamble anyway :)

Once all the eggs were found and every basket was cleared of Easter goodies, one of the sweetest little bunnies had tuckered out. We hopped into the car and journeyed home to dream about the most perfect first Easter any little girl could have.
Happy Easter Everyone!
