A Visit from Nana and Grandpa

1/16/2008

A few weeks ago, Nana and Grandpa Bishop packed their bags in cold wintery Michigan and headed out to encounter the mild winters of California...Oh yah, and to see Ms. Kenadie with all her giggles, smiles and roars. Yes, she growls. But don't get me wrong, it's nothing but a sign of endearment.

From Wednesday to Tuesday, she had practically 24 hours of showered affection from her grandparents. She was so excited to see them that I had a hard time getting her to sleep at night. If anyone knows Kenadie, they know that she is the life of the party. As long as there are people up (that aren't Aron and Myself) she is ready to impress.

Being the jet set traveler that she is, what more appropriate thing to do while they were here but go to Monterey for a few days. I'm not going to lie, she hates her car seat, and I was for sure that we would encounter a screamer the whole way there. But, to our amazement, she was fantastic. Probably, because she sat in the back with Nana and myself, so attention (again) was all on her. From Sacramento to Monterey, she was perfect. She also learned a lot from Grandpa Gary who has a plethora of knowledge ;)

While in Monterey, the five of us visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium. This was an absolute hit with Kenadie being one of her past times is sitting in front of Uncle Teddy's fish tank and starring at the fish. Sharks, sunfish, otters and more... she was in heaven.

After a long day of driving, the aquarium and dinner, you would think this little booger would be tuckered out...but NO!! :) She stayed up playing and giggling as we all shared a room. It's impossible to get her down when everyone is in the room. We might as well have thrown a party in her honor. But, one by one, everyone fell fast asleep...Gary, Pat, Aron and eventually Kenadie and myself. To try and block her from hearing the TV and snores of the crowd, we placed a big comforter over the crib. Nope, didn't work. I still heard her giggling and talking to herself...yes, yes, and growling!! RRRrrroarrr!

On the way home from Monterey, we took the 17 mile drive on one of the best days I've seen in Monterey. The ocean air was crisp and there was not a cloud in the sky. Even though it was a brisk 50 degree day, to Gary and Pat is was like Spring...it worked out perfect! :)

When all was said and done, Kenadie had a week of Michigander Family Lovin'! Like I always say, we are very lucky to have our little girl loved across the U.S.
