Potty Time!

Since Kenadie turned 18 months, we've been starting the slow and drawn out process of potty training. I refuse to have that kid that is 4 and not potty trained yet. Some parents have the patients (God Bless You!) and others find it necessary to finalize the changing of the poops. That's where Aron and I are at this point.

After about a month of familiarizing her with the potty, she started to get the hang of it. It wasn't anything regular, but if we saw the blank stare that was pooping/peeing, we ran over pulled her diaper off and put her on the potty. After we saw the evidence of a big girl potty time, Aron and I did the "PeePee on the Potty" song and dance. (editor note: this will not be filmed or talked about in the future as we are sure this event will fade out of Miss K's memory as she grows up) Then we realized that there had to be a reward involved... chocolate! The best things are M & M's! Ooohh yes, here are a couple M &M's versus a fun size snickers...those are for Mommy ;)

The first time Kenadie alerted me to the fact that she had to go potty was about 4 months ago. And this wasn't just a peepee, is was a huge poop! And I'll admit, I got cocky thinking, "This potty training business is a piece of cake!" Wrong! It's now for months later and she'll decide if she's in the mood to go on the potty. And just like Daddy, she'll take her sweet little time.

Our goal is still the same though, by 2 we want to have less diapers and more M & M handouts! I'm not going lie either, bribery works great. I bought big girl princess undies and big girl elmo undies, but she can't wear them until she uses the potty all day... In the efforts to not pass out from holding my breath on this one, I've put them upstairs in the closet. That day is at least 4 months out.
