It's true when people say babies are like sponges and will repeat everything you say. Let me give you a few examples of my little sponge.
1. "Ca-ca"
A certain little girl loves to get into the trash. In attempts to keep her little grimmy grabbers out of the garbage can we've placed heavy objects on the lid so she couldn't lift it. NOPE, didn't work. We tried the "NO!" method while distracting her with something else...yah, didn't work either. It wasn't until she was at Grandma's house that she figured it out. As her hands were suspiciously slipping into the silver can of trashy treasures, she Grandma looked at her and said "No, Kenadie! That's Ca-Ca!!" Now, some people would closely related this word to dirty or yucky but in our house, it's always been ca-ca. As Kenadie stopped what she was doing, she looked at Grandma and repeated "No! Ca-Ca!" Let me tell you, it worked. She doesn't play much in the garbage but that word is used on everything that shouldn't be put in our mouths or is just darn right dirty.
2. Borat
As Aron and I were hanging out with Kenadie after a long day at work, we discovered that Kenadie had another new word. Aron was getting rocked in the chair by Kenadie as she sang "Rocky, rocky, daddy!" I was in the kitchen cooking dinner only to hear what sounded like Borat exclaiming "NIiiiiceee!" but it was coming from a little squeaky baby voice. This only could have come from us always telling her to be "NICE" to the doggie or kitty or to other little children for that matter. Now we hear her running around the house saying it over and over again.
