11 years or 11 months...?

That is the question!! A little someone named Kenadie seems to think that she is a SUPER DUPER Big Girl and does not need help from anyone. With her first big venture into the pool with water wings and enter tubes, we were teaching her “Kick, kick, kick” to swim to safety. After seeing Daddy and I swim here and there, she thought…”well wait, I can do that!” and began her frog-like attempt at swimming. Now with no fear, she runs out the back door and directly into the pool with no inhibitions. Weee… Kurplunk!

That’s not the only thing that makes her say WEEEeeee! The California Bishops journeyed back to Chicago for our good friends Josh and Annie and Steve and Sonya’s weddings. As they call it in baseball, it was a double header. On the plane ride there I’ll admit, I was nervous that she might scream. She had an ear infection the week before we left and I felt as though Aron and I were tempting fate. As we were about to take off, I had the bottle, toys and any snacks ready to keep her occupied through the popping of the ears. So…here we go…TAKE OFF! And to our surprise, Kenadie is looking out the window and shouts “WEEEEEEEEEEE!!!” I was shocked. Did she just say “wee” to the roaring airplane engine, but to a vacuum she cries? Hmm… Ok!? Whatever works? Once we arrived in Chicago, the real excitement began. She (and Rella) got to flirt with all the boys and generally just show off for any audience that would pay attention. I’ll tell you, there was no lack of attention. In a short 5 days we saw: Dan, C-Paul, Aunt Camie, Nana, Grandpa, Justin, Jenn, TJ, Josh, Annie, Mr. & Mrs. Laidler, Corey, Gibbs, Kelly and many, many other people. I don’t think I could have heard her infamous, “Whosthat?” one more time…
While we were in Chicago, our first day there we took on the crowd at American Girl Doll. It was Aron and I's first trip there and we weren't really sure what to expect. The best is what we soon found out. As you walk through the doors you feel overwhelmed...to the right there are doll accessories and books, to the left there are outfits galore, up above there are cute little animated scenes of all the different Bitty Babies and American Girl characters and all you can think is "Holy Cow this is going to be expensive!" We both began to breathe heavy and clutched our wallets. Are we starting little Miss K too early on this stuff? Naahhhh! This is fun! Upstairs we went to buy a birthday outfit for Kenadie's Bitty Baby. What you don't expect are all the cute accessories and add ons that go with the birthday outfit. So many cute things! I couldn't control myself. Oh wait, Aron was there, so I had a 180 lb conscious next to me at all times. I find it better to look and buy later with him. JUST KIDDING HON!

This past month has just been an amazing transformation from cute snuggly little peanut to baby on the go. Every now and then you heard Kenadie say something, but never to the affect of a full chatter. It’s entertaining to sit and listen to her make noises and then pretend that she said something real important. “Doity, Dooty, tigity, ta!” Yes, Kenadie, I agree, this mandatory hands free law is fueey!

The other new advancement this month has been the climbing. OHHH THE CLIMBING! I’m sorry, did I give birth to Spiderman or a cute little girl? Answer: SpiderGIRL! Since the walking, turning and running has been mastered, the next step is the climbing. I’m in the kitchen with Aron only to turn around and see our 11 month old daughter hanging from the oven handle with her feet on the oven door. GREAT…! Now, I started to laugh, because it was comical at how she thought she was hot to trout and Aron had to step in and be the disciplinarian… Good Cop, Bad Cop… I win!! She’s so much like me and the stories my mom would tell about my childhood that it makes me laugh. I know what I’m in for, and it’s not good. Aron’s looks, my personality… eek!

Being a beautiful princess is hard work... that's why Kenadie and Rella put ample time to this aspect of their busy lives at top priority. Right next to playing in the house plants and climbing the cupboards. Beauty is pain... and Kenadie makes it look so effortless.

Incase you were all wondering... Rella is still by Kenadie's side. Separated at birth!
