Registering

This weekend Aron and I got the joy of registering for our very first baby shower. We walked into Babys R Us with confidence. Hell, we just went through the wedding registry process, this should be a piece of cake. How hard can baby supplies be...?

VERY HARD! We started off by talking with a young girl who helped us understand the necessities seeming harmless enough. We got up from the desk with a list of things to register for, but what we didn't realize is that along with the list came one hundred million brands!! Playtex, Gerber, Avent, SafeyFirst, Evenflo... SO MANY! Just trying to pick a bottle took us 15 minutes.

Moving on to the strollers, play pins, cribs... we had those down! We were cruising along, until the breast pump section. One pump or two? Handheld or electric? And then came the brands...Medeala, Playtex, Evenflo, hell Graco may even make a breast pump now. What I wasn't prepared for (at all) was Aron to jump up with his knowledge on them. I'm not kidding, he had these things researched and began talking with the sales rep about them. Telling her about what we are looking to do in regards to breast feeding, my career, time management... he had it down. Part of me was embarrassed that he knew more than I did on this subject. But the other half of me was thoroughly amused by his knowledge.

Best Moment: Aron's Nipple Realization
There are these shields that can be placed over a woman's nipple to protect from teething babies biting them off. Aron said he's heard of them before, but didn't realize that nipples come in all shapes and sizes. He picked up one shield that had to have been an inch long and loudly laughs..."Are you kidding me? Hon, are there women with nipples this long..? Ahhewwwahh" I know there were several women that heard, some chuckled, others nervously looked down at their boobs in embarrassment! :)
