The Phases of "Yes"

As a parent you are constantly trying to make sure your child grows up to be polite and well spoken. And please, this is no easy task here... Since July, Kenadie has started to say "Yup!" when asked a question. Before this time, it was "Yes" and boy did we think we had the best little 2 year old around. Then the "Yup" arrived on the scene and we were mortified. So after about 3 weeks of saying "Yes" every time she said "Yup" she transformed her answer to a new level of cringe. "Yah!" What?! No, no, no... "Yah" is not ok unless you are on a farm and have yelled out "YEESSS!" 10 times and now you are just frustrated. For another 2 weeks or so, we repeated "Yes" every time she said "Yah." Even Aron sat her down and told her why we don't say "Yah" to people. His reasoning...Mickey doesn't say "Yah!" haha! The next change was when we went to Dave and Sue's house for dinner. Dave had asked her a question and she politely responded "Yes!" Hahahaa SUCCESS LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!
No, I was wrong... A few days later and I heard this come from my child's mouth. "Uh huh." Oh dear god, you have to be kidding. Now we are grunting out our responses? And where is she getting this!? Good question. I began listening to everyone we are around all the time. And each and every one of those responses is normal throughout the conversation.
"Hey Aron are you running to the store?"
"Yup!"
"Oh can you grab diapers?"
"Sure, Do we need milk?"
"Yah, I think so, let me check"
Great, and I thought it was just swear words that I had to watch out for...
